Vietnamese-French Engineers – National University of Civil Engineering: European Brand – Top Quality

Ministry of Education and Training – The need for industrialization and modernization associated with sustainable development, meeting the requirements of environmental protection, responding to climate change increasingly requires comprehensive high-quality human resources in the construction industry.

Capturing that demand, 04 leading technical universities in the country including:  National University of Civil Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and French partner universities have established the Program of Training High Quality Engineers in Vietnam (PFIEV) since 1999. Up to now, in order to provide to the domestic and foreign labor market, engineers with high professional qualifications, versatile and international brand standards.

Over 20 years of training and development, the engineers graduated from PFIEV – University of Civil Engineering have made many contributions to society, holding important positions in domestic and international agencies, units, corporations, founding private companies and has achieved many achievements in scientific research and technology transfer. The PFIEV program has affirmed the brand of quality and prestige with society, 100% of engineers graduated from the school get good jobs or continue to study with a higher education, such as master, PhD or get working positions: Design consultant (leaders, project manager, …); Construction-supervision of construction works; State management of Construction, Transport, Planning – Architecture, Environmental Resources; Teaching-research at universities, research institutes … In addition, PFIEV students also have many scholarship opportunities that allow them to choose to study for a Master’s or Doctoral degree at home and abroad.

The objective of the program is to train international standard engineers to master professional theory, be good at practice, have the capacity to manage the implementation organization and have a strategic vision. PFIEV engineers are equipped with scientific approaches and problem-solving in a scientific, general thinking, interdisciplinary way, capable of adapting to social changes and technological improvement, are versatile construction engineers, meeting the requirements of employers.

At the University of Civil Engineering, the PFIEV program cooperates with top schools in the field of construction in France such as École des Ponts ParisTech (ENPC), Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon (INSA de Lyon), École Centrale Paris (ECP), Grenoble INP Institut d’ingénierie et de management (INPG), École nationale supérieure de mécanique et d’aérotechnique (ENSMA), Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (INPT), École Nationle Supérieure de Techniques Avancées Bretagne (ENSTA ) and Lycée Louis-le-Grand (LLG) … This is the only program of the university that is recognized by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI) for the quality of training in accordance with European and North American standards and the PFIEV certificate is recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as equivalent to the Master’s degree.

Students can choose from one of the following training majors::

 – Transport Infrastructure (Road and Bridge construction engineer)

 – Urban Engineering (urban planning and management engineer)

– Hydraulic Engineering (engineers constructing marine – petroleum projects, coastal constructions, ports – waterway, irrigation – hydroelectric projects).

 – Construction Materials (Engineer of Construction Materials Technology).

The teaching staffs in the PFIEV program is highly trained, experienced and enthusiastic with more than 80% of lecturers with Doctoral degrees, well-trained abroad. The content of lectures is rich and update advanced knowledge at home and abroad. In addition, PFIEV students can study with modern facilities (Private library, modern multifunctional room fully equipped for professional and foreign language learning) … Students also have the opportunity to absorb knowledge and experience from leading experts invited to teach, guide projects or seminars, career orientation workshops.

During their studies, students will be encouraged to paractice at construction companies. The students always get trips such as visiting trans-Vietnam, visiting construction site, visiting factories … Besides, there are a series of extracurricular activities for students (20th anniversary of the program, welcome the new students, go on picnics at the beginning of the course, PFIEV Student Football Tournament, French Language Gala Night, Graduation Ceremony, Business Connection, …). Currently, many domestic companies or foreign joint venture companies have come to order the new engineers who graduated from the program.

Studying at the PFIEV program of the University of Civil Engineering, the students can study the most advanced, international standard training program with the lowest tuition fee (about 1.1 million VND / month) and many opportunities to study abroad. Each year there are 16 scholarships to study in France for PFIEV students: double degree, practicing and making graduation projects in France. Moreover, after graduation, PFIEV engineers are recognized as equivalent to master’s degrees or transferred directly to higher education (PhD).
