On September 1, 2021, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering held an online meeting of the “Meeting of the Perfectment Council of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering for the PFIEV program” in 2021.
Attending the meeting, from the school side, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh – Vice Rector, Project Manager of The Training Program of Excellent Engineers of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and leaders of functional departments; staffs; lecturers and students of the Board of The Training Program of Excellent Engineers. On the side of the guests outside the university, there were a representative alumni, leading experts and businesses representative in the fields of Transport Infrastructure, Urban Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering and Construction Materials.

The delegates listened to the report summarizing and evaluating about the activities of the PFIEV Program in the period of 2019-2021 with the contents of enrollment – training, business connection, National Perfectment Council 2020, the accreditation and re-accreditation of the Engineering Degree Commission (CTI) for the period 2022-2028, the program’s challenges and difficulties, and proposals solutions to get a good result.
With the achievements that the PFIEV Program has achieved in recent years, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh believes that it is the result of the process of striving, effort and contribution of the whole system of people implements in coordinating and managing the program. The PFIEV program has reached an agreement on innovating the content of the Math and Physics curriculum, effectively implementing intensive French teaching for PFIEV students with native teachers, and establishing a Subcommittee Scientific Research for PFIEV students, organize Business Connection seminars, well implement the enterprise semester, strengthen the implementation of graduation projects as well as defend graduation projects with the participation guidance and evaluation of experts at enterprises to increase practicality, renewing and updating training programs according to the national qualification framework, signing cooperation agreements with enterprises. In terms of facilities, the school has invested in renovating and installing equipment to set up a Library Room – Reading Room 301.H1 and 02 multi-purpose classrooms (302, 303.H1) spacious, clean and beautiful, creating favorable conditions for students to come and read specialized documents, study in groups, do scientific research projects, learn foreign languages, academic exchanges, organize activities and meetings. These function rooms have now been put into operation very effectively and are highly appreciated by the students.
In the discussion, the meeting agreed on the strategy and steps to be taken to enroll PFIEV students for the school year 2021-2022 and the CTI 2022 accreditation report. In addition, the meeting also received many quarterly comments, evaluations from delegates inside and outside the university on enrollment, assessment and improvement of training quality, innovation of training content, improvement of students’ foreign language skills, cooperation with enterprises in training and communication for the program, etc.
After a period of lively discussion, the meeting ended successfully. Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa, Rector of the school, suggested that it is necessary to promote the improvement of students’ foreign language skills, and to promote the percentage of graduates achieving the PFIEV diploma appendix, promote the enterprise semester that have been implemented well, focus on implementing accreditation documents to meet the requirements of CTI, focus on orienting career paths for students based on their own ability and also the aspiration that each individual student pursues to achieve in the future, while promoting close connections between students and alumni, building a community of alumni who are always ready to support and help the students during their studies and career guidance. The PFIEV program contributes a lot to the school’s success, so the school will create all the best conditions for PFIEV program’s development.
With a lot of valuable constructive comments from the experts, teachers, alumni and students of the PFIEV program, the university and the PFIEV Board will acknowledge, seriously study and outline an appropriate action strategy to buiding a growing PFIEV program.
