The 10th session of the National Council of High Quality Engineers Training Program

On November 16, 2018, the National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE) solemnly organized the 10th meeting of the National Council of High Quality Engineers Training Program (PFIEV) to summarize the activities in 2018 and provide operational directions for 2019, towards the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the PFIEV Program.

The High Quality Engineers Training Program (PFIEV) is a bilateral cooperation project implemented by the Government of Vietnam and the Republic of France since 1999. The program has been implemented at 4 prestigious universities in Vietnam: Hanoi University of Technology, University of Civil Engineering, Da Nang University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in collaboration with 8 leading French universities. Every year, the Council for Completing the High Quality Engineers Training Program (PFIEV) conducts an annual meeting to evaluate the performance of the previous year and provide operational orientations for the following year.

Speaking at the opening session, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of NUCE on behalf of 4 universities participating in the PFIEV program welcomed the delegates to the 10th meeting. The program of PFIEV High Quality Engineer training program and thanks for the guidance, support and deep concern of the Ministry of Education and Training, the French Embassy in Vietnam, the leaders of the French partner schools and the Vietnamese universities participating in the PFIEV program. Assoc.Prof. Pham Duy Hoa said that since the establishment of PFIEV, the program has changed a lot but has continued to show its value through giving prospects to young Vietnamese engineers. Assoc.Prof. Pham Duy Hoa hopes that the PFIEV program will constantly improve the quality of training high-quality human resources to meet the needs of domestic, regional and international businesses, in a strong competitive trend. and the impact of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Etienne Rolland Piegue – Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities, the French Embassy in Vietnam, said PFIEV is a high quality, priority education program between the two countries of Vietnam. and France. Over the years, PFIEV has affirmed its quality by achieving HCERES; training of highly qualified engineers as well as gaining professional knowledge suitable to the development of Vietnam in the current period; training a large number of engineers equivalent to the master’s level, many of whom continue to study for doctoral degrees. Mr. Etienne Rolland Piegue also pledged that the French Government will continue to support and accompany the PFIEV Vietnam program, creating a learning and living environment for Vietnamese students under the PFIEV Program to study in France. , research to achieve the best results.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, Director of International Cooperation Department Pham Quang Hung highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of PFIEV program during the past time. Director Pham Quang Hung also hoped that in this meeting, members of the PFIEV would discuss together to find a suitable operating model for the program in the coming period with the motto of strengthening the role and the autonomy of the member schools to enhance the brand name, the ability to attract and compete with other training programs in Vietnam.

At the meeting, participants attended the meeting to discuss and evaluate the performance of 2018 and provide directions for the operation in 2019. Issues discussed in the meeting:

1. Complete and implement a new operating model PFIEV

2. Make mid-term CTI report

3. Complete the training program for newly opened branches

4. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of PFIEV + CNP 2019

5. Continue to improve according to CTI recommendations

6. Proposal to the French Embassy on inviting native teachers to teach French to students of the 3rd and fourth year of PFIEV

7. Applying the program of renewing Maths, General Physics
