PFIEV, XF, KDF students attend the Innovation Workshop with Prof. Serge Haroche

On October 3, 2025, the Forum “Unlocking the innovation procetial between French and Vietnam. Lesson from Nobel laureate – Serge Haroche” took place at the National Innovation Center.

The event is considered an important milestone in Vietnam-France scientific cooperation, especially with the in-depth presentation of Professor Serge Haroche – French quantum physicist, Nobel Prize in Physics 2012 winner, he is widely known for his research on quantum optics and quantum information science.

French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet speaks at the forum

Professor Haroche shared invaluable lessons on the path to breakthrough success in technology, especially in the field of Quantum Technology. Professor Haroche emphasized the fundamental educational philosophy: “Every technological success comes from basic scientific research”. This is especially important for engineering students, especially the knowledge of quantum optics and quantum information science shared by the Professor, opening up new directions in the development of advanced construction materials, simulation of complex structures and security of construction data in the future applied in the field of Civil Engineering.

Professor Serge Haroche presented at the forum

Students of the Francophone group of the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (PFIEV/XF/KDF) attending the Forum not only help them acquire knowledge but also be strongly inspired by the spirit of research and innovation, in accordance with the International Engineering standards. With the fundamental educational philosophy which is also the training orientation of the Francophone group of the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, students are equipped with a solid foundation of basic science to be able to apply, integrate and create technology, mastering the future.

Student Do Minh Phuong, Class 66KSVL – PFIEV asked the Professor a question

The presence of Professor Haroche in Vietnam is a valuable opportunity for the young generation of engineers of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering to connect with the international scientific network, continuing to affirm the position of the Francophone bloc in the country’s innovation ecosystem.

The workshop with the sharing of Professor Serge Haroche will inspire the passion for science and creativity for PFIEV, XF, KDF students of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering in particular and scientists and young people of Vietnam in general.
